Faith

Oooh boy now I've done it: opened the big fat Pandora's box of questions with no answers; the big box of the eternal ponder; the box that only gets delivered to those that unwittingly start to scratch that itch, an itch that grows mightier by the day on the inexorable march to the other side. I can hear that little voice: "oh meester Limboman you have made a beeg meestake!" (Why the little voice is that of a Mexican gardener I don't know. Maybe cuz he's a Catholic?)

I'll start with a few erudite quotes from scratchers far more articulate and learned that I, just to get the scratching started. I will warn you, this is the kinda itch that only gets worse once you start scratching, and it's quite possible that you should scratch yourself into a little pile of dust before we're through. Or ashes. Whichever you prefer.

Faith consists in believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe.
- Voltaire

Faith is a knowledge within the heart, beyond the reach of proof.
- Khalil Gibran

To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.
- Thomas Aquinas

Whatever we expect with confidence becomes our own self-fulfilling prophecy.
- Brian Tracy

Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation.
- D. Elton Trueblood

Faith has to do with things that are not seen and hope with things that are not at hand.
- Thomas Aquinas

I shall return! This is just the opening salvo. Meanwhile get out your calamine lotion and try not to think of that big white elephant with the big "?" painted on his belly and is now sitting in the corner of your bedroom. It's just your imagination, really! Don't think about it!

(You thought about it! Stop!)
